Abstract

The coffee brewing method is a process that significantly determines the final result of a coffee beverage. Pour-over is one such brewing method that employs a brewing device known as a coffee dripper. The coffee dripper has become a popular brewing tool among home coffee enthusiasts as well as a preferred brewing method in coffee shops. The current market offerings of coffee drippers do not feature adjustable water flow rates, thus preventing users from controlling the contact time variable. The objective of this research is to develop a coffee dripper for the pour-over method that includes a feature for adjustable water flow rates. This feature allows users to control the contact time variable, enabling them to achieve varying levels of coffee concentration. The design process in this research was conducted using the Design Thinking methodology, resulting in a coffee dripper design with six (6) adjustable water flow rates.
